Western Baptist Hospital is accredited by state and federal agencies that oversee compliance with established standards of care. The primary accrediting agencies are the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Office of the Inspector General, and The Joint Commission. Anyone can report issues to these agencies without fear of retaliation.
The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Office of the Inspector General, may be contacted at: Office of the Inspector General, Western Enforcement Branch, Western State Hospital, 2400 Russellville Road, Hopkinsville, KY 42240. The telephone number to call is (270) 889-6052.
The Joint Commission conducts accreditation surveys of healthcare facilities to determine their compliance with nationally-established standards. The standards include an organization’s level of performance in key areas such as: patient rights, patient treatment and infection control. They also focus on the hospital’s ability to provide safe, high-quality care.
To earn and maintain accreditation, an organization must undergo an on-site survey by a Joint Commission survey team at least every three years.
The Joint Commission may be contacted by telephone at 1-800-994-6610; by fax at 1-630-792-5636 or by mail at: Office of Quality Monitoring, The Joint Commission, One Renaissance Blvd., Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181.
