2009 Fund Run for Charities

The  community is invited to participate in the 2009 Fred Paxton Fund Run for Charities on Saturday, July 18, at Noble Park. The annual 5k run/walk, sponsored by the Community Foundation of West Kentucky, will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, at Noble Park.

There will be great prizes and awards, and each registered participant will receive a T-shirt. You can register by printing out this form.

The participation fee is $17, with a portion designated to your charity of choice. The Western Baptist Hospital Foundation Fund is one of the eligible charities, so you're encouraged to team up with the hospital’s Auxiliary in supporting the foundation. An information booth will be set up in the hospital cafeteria from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 3.

The late Mr. Paxton helped start this event to help the area’s nonprofit organizations build their endowment funds. Because of Mr. Paxton’s vision and commitment and that offered now by his family, the Community Foundation matches donations raised by each organization up to $10,000, until $100,000 is distributed. All matching funds are designated to set up or add to endowments for a charity.
